Organised by Hong Kong-based Adsale Exhibition, the 16th edition of International Exhibition on Textile Industry (ShanghaiTex) reportedly opened to more than 1,000 exhibitors spread over 100,000 m2 ofexhibition space at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre(SNIEC). The show took place from 10th to 13th June 2013 and the organiser expected to attract more than 60,000 visitors and 30 associations and enterprise delegations. The wine and spirits trade show, Vinexpo, will expand its Asian portfolio to Beijing and Tokyo next year by launching two new events. The Beijing show will be held from 2nd to 3rd June, with an expected attendance of 200 exhibitors and more than 3,000 wine and spirit professionals from Beijing and north China. The Japan show will launch on 1st and 2nd November, and is expected to attract 400 exhibitors and 3,000 visitors. The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) recently organised its first road show in Myanmar to promote business and networking opportunities for the exhibition industry between the two countries. The road show was held in Yangon in collaboration with the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and supported by The Royal Thai Embassy, Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and Myanmar Tourism Federation. The FIME Show, a medical supply trade show based out of Miami, snagged the No. 1 spot on the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association’s 2012 Top 50 Medical Meetings list, with 54,147 total attendees. Released a few weeks before the association’s annual meeting June 22-25 in Austin, Texas, the list represents the largest medical meetings in the U.S. ranked by attendance. A new, 5-year labor agreement was reached between Global Experience Specialists and the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters Local 1027, who work in the warehouse on exhibits and other projects. Contract renewal negotiations originally had halted June 3 because of the union’s request for a 17-percent wage increase during a 4-year period and GES’ offer of a 15-percent increase during the same 4-year time period. Douglas L. Instagram announced a new feature this week that allows users to take up to 15 seconds of video. Users also will have the option to add a filter to the video before sharing.  Read all of the details in their press release. There are similar apps already available on the market: Vine for Twitter and Cinemagram.
