DMC Company Pacific World Opens New Office in Myanmar

June 21, 2016

Pacific World will open an office in Myanmar, expanding the integrated global DMC and Event Management organization’s reach to 36 countries across the globe.

“Myanmar has been working to position itself as a MICE destination for a number of years and we have seen an increased interest from our clients, looking to host their events there,” said Selina Chavry, global managing director for Pacific World.

Charvry added, “It has taken us some time to find the right team who can deliver the standard of service that is synonymous with our Pacific World brand and now that we have these people in place, we are ready to receive programme requests from our clients.”

For entertainment options in special events, Myanmar offers music culture, with the use of traditional percussion instruments being prominent throughout its history.

Aung Lin Htin, country director of Pacific World Myanmar, added, “Myanmar is capable of mixing world class 5-star hotels, with the warm hospitality and historical culture that is prevalent throughout the country. The destination offers a winning formula, which we are confident will entice companies from all over the world. Cities such as Yangon are capable of hosting multiple meetings and conferences, while further afield, Bagan and Inle Lake can offer incredible incentive trips with activities such as hot air balloons and luxury cruises along the Irrawaddy River.”

The destination is now also well connected to the world, with 19 cities having direct flights to Yangon, and Emirates taking this number up to 20 with the addition of Dubai in August this year.

Aung Lin Htin continues, “Our team in Myanmar will work aligned with Pacific World’s initiative to deliver unique experiences at any destination by creating new products and guaranteeing access to new places and locations. For example, the historic leading bank building, once among the most opulent department stores in Asia and a classic example of British colonial style, has been renovated and re-opened and currently holds a blue plaque to mark its historical significance. Pacific World Myanmar has come to an agreement to host events and conferences in this beautiful and one-of-a-kind venue, and currently we are the only DMC offering this service.”
